Trial Plantings - March 2014
In 2012 we began trial plantings of giant tropical bamboo to determine which species would perform the best under local conditions, while Malawi has warm summers and mild winters its rainy season is very short and species need to endure an extended dry season.

From the performance of the previous year’s trial plantings, Dendrocalamus asper was selected as the main species for the project.
